Although we know that some of us are eating too much, sometimes we have no control over these habits. The compulsion to reach for a snack is just overwhelming.
The reason this happens is to do with our subconscious mind, the greater part of our thought processes that we are hardly aware of. We train this part of our mind to do the automatic things that help us with our everyday life and we do this by repetition. If we repeat an action enough times, we learn it and then we can do it without thinking. An example would be riding a bike or tying shoelaces. Once we have struggled to teach ourselves to do these things, we never have to learn them again. The subconscious takes over the responsibility and does it for us.
It is the same with overeating and snacking. If all these naughty habits are repeated enough times, then the subconscious takes over the control and tells us that we should have a bar of chocolate when we sit down to watch the TV. The thought of not having that treat is not even entertained.
Hypnotherapy accesses the subconscious and gently retrains it to approach food in a different way. As the subconscious can not reason or question, it will happily take on board a new set of instructions and guide you accordingly.

There are two ways in which we tackle weight management and it is dependant upon your weight, or more specifically your BMI or Body Mass Index and this is a figure derived from a complex calculation based on your height and weight.
The range of BMI is as follows:
Less than 16.0 Severely Underweight
16.0 - 18.5 Underweight
18.5 - 25 Normal
25 - 30 Overweight
30 - 40 Obese
Over 40 Morbidly Obese
