I have
designed and developed it to enable you go into practice as a Weight Management specialist
with confidence, and it is suitable for all qualified Hypnotherapists.
The procedures taught here have been developed and
evolved over many years of successful practice at Hypnotherapy South West. The
whole process is based on a single, fully integrated therapy session lasting 90
minutes, as this has proved to be the most successful format for Weight
Management.
Every step of the 90-minute procedure is discussed
in the finest detail to instil confidence and understanding, allowing you to
use your new skills immediately.
There
are no time limits to complete the course so you can proceed comfortably at
your own pace and will have the benefit of full support throughout.
Once you
have completed the course there will be a straightforward ‘open book’ test
paper taken at home, and when this has been completed you will be awarded your
Diploma in Weight Management
Therapy, and then practice with the letters DWMT after your name.
There is
nothing complicated in this course and you can work through it at a steady pace

Asked Questions
The
course is divided into ten lessons
Lesson 1
This
comprehensive lesson covers weight management issues and statistics and
presents the Counselling Session which covers the first third of the whole
therapy and is designed to build rapport with your client and help you to fully
understand an individuals eating habits. This will
also focus the clients mind and strengthen commitment.
A
questionnaire is used during the counselling to record all the necessary
information for you to be able to customise the therapy for each client.
Lesson 2
Hypnosis
begins with some suggested inductions and deepeners. The first therapeutic tool
used here is ‘replacement therapy’ where an anchor is created to equip your
client with a substitute for their snacking triggers.
Lesson 3
Positive
imagery is used to instil the benefits your client will gain as a slimmer
person.
Lesson 4
This is
quite a practical step as it offers a therapy that suggests; to your clients subconscious, ways to view the food on their plate
in a different way, building up a comfort zone about seeing less food than
there used to be.
Lesson 5
Aversion
therapy is covered here where the clients mind is trained to perceive food;
which is of less use to them, in a less palatable way.
Lesson 6
This
course is all about the management of weight, so another practical exercise is
presented in this lesson. As part of the therapy your subject is required to
weigh themselves on a regular basis throughout the agreed managed period and
plot it on a graph type of chart. This visual aid is then built into the clients subconscious
Lesson 7
A
variation of parts therapy is used here in the final segment of the therapy,
where the ‘Food Manager’ is called upon for negotiation and agreement.
Lesson 8
The
final therapeutic technique is explained here. A highly visual and symbolic
metaphor is employed to allow your subject to make the
transition from the person they are now to the person they wish to be.
Lesson 9
The
whole 90-minute session is now brought together and put into chronological
order. Timing is very important so the whole procedure is mapped out with time prompts.
All the scripts used within the session are individually presented for ease of
use and/or copying.
Lesson 10
A further collection of scripts and forms, presented in an alternative
format for ease of use.
